Every year Conestoga Valley High School student council plans 3 pep rallies in the Rill gym: one for homecoming, one for Christmas, and one to celebrate the end of the year. Junior Cloe Martin said, “My favorite pep rally is the homecoming one because I enjoy when the escorts do their dances.”

By the time students fill the gym with excitement, student council has already poured a lot of hard work into the event. Student council co-advisor Jessica Cooper said, “Student council has a meeting during the summer where we start planning for homecoming, pep rally, and spirit week. So, all our hard work begins in the summer and [continues] every Thursday morning.”

Student council works to plan and organize the pep rally, making sure there are activities to keep students involved and excited. The pep rally includes school cheers, music, games, and performances from other clubs.

Student council advisor Jesse Shenk said, “Not only does the student council plan our exciting and awaited pep rally, but so do other clubs, such as the Step team and part of the band.”

The event brings students, teachers, and staff together to celebrate homecoming and bring the school community together. Each game encourages students to participate and show their school and grade spirit.

For many students, the pep rally is more than just an event, it’s a chance to come together as a school. The excitement and enthusiasm throughout the gym helps create a memorable start to the homecoming celebrations. Junior Lailaani Toney Rivera said, “I view the pep rallies, specifically the homecoming pep rally, as very exciting and fun. It’s a good way to bring the school together at the beginning of the year and celebrate homecoming.”
